Best Insulation for Belly pan and Hood Pad?

Being soundproofing has come a long way since the 80's, what insulation materials would you recommend for the belly pan and hood pan? I have a feeling what is being offered online is made with cheap materials.

Both are rotted out on my car, I don't mind the noise (I like it honestly) but it being this loud defeats the purpose of the car feeling luxurious.

Don't forget to grease the screw and threads on the spring compressor.

Noise Control Materials and Fehr Cab Kits for your cab

I haven't used this yet but bookmarked it from another forum member
who used some of their products and was happy with the results.
I think he used the product called "The Insulator" and used it on the hood and firewall.

Good luck and post your results!

Jeff

Is it really that loud? My car doesn't have the belly pans, though the hood pad is in excellent condition. In town, you never really hear the engine and very little road noise. On the highway the engine drone gets a bit intrusive (it's a Diesel....) and the wind noise becomes the dominant thing you hear unless you're on crappy pavement, then you get some tire noise.

If the hood pad is mostly gone, try replacing that first and making sure that the rubber seals along the false and real firewall are intact. You'd be surprised how much noise that kills.

Do insulated belly pans help? Enough that I'll buy yours.

I had removed mine due to a couple of torn mounting tabs. Noticed a big difference when idling around. Also while under a sporty throttle.

I've looked far and wide for some used ones to refurb and install. No luck.

I'm about to order a new set from MB.

The other great thing about them is one can park on a friends pristine concrete driveway without the fear of the occasional soot spot from a drop of oil.

Refreshing your hood pad with the real deal is important too.
