Looking for source of parts
Does anyone have advice on where i can find the Vacuum "Tee" that is between the vacuum pump and the Brake booster. I need one that has 2 little "tees" that have broken off. I cant find them online, with my searching so far.
W123 1982 300d 617 turbo anyone have some guidance? Thanks |
If you're talking about the fat line from the vacuum pump to the brake booster, you have to replace the whole vacuum line. The plastic T's that come out of it are part of the whole assembly.

Yes, you can buy the nylon tube assembly new for ~$70. A bit rich for me, so in one 300D, I drilled out the broken barb and epoxied a small copper tube in its place. Worked fine, then got a replacement from a JY car years later.

Pick and pull!!! They are basically all the same vacuum tube coming off all brake boosters in every Mercedes from the 70s to the early 90s.
If you just want to replace the T you will have to cut it out of your parts car, then cut your broken one out of your new car, and u then need to use a heat gun or VERY CARFULLY use a torch to heat up the line and set in your replacement T. It is a hard line so u can't just wiggle in the barb fitting like you normally would, you have to heat it to expand and shrink. You may need to get some more generic tubing to run from the rear end of the T to the break booster because after splicing out and in your old and new T the line may not reach the booster because of the few inches you will loose from cutting it out. So ya, either pull the whole line from the parts car and cut a section out of that or get a generic hose and use that. Also remember, just air is running thru these lines and the T connection. You can find a generic T and generic line at any automotive or hardware store and make it work just fine. |

As an example, 1234303929 is for my former 1981 300TD. There are two tee's in this line. On the other hand, 1234307429 is for my 1983 300D. Only one tee for this latter item. |
