190DT is this end of life?

I'm finding more and more parts are NLA. The latest is the front exhaust pipe, which has sent me off looking for a custom pipe bender. Other important parts that have gone missing: muffler, probably the exhaust center, too. Upper and lower radiator hoses. I went through three rebuilt alternators earlier this year before deciding to rebuild one myself. At 30 years, it's beginning to look like this is no longer a "practical classic".

a few years ago I could waltz into the local dealership and get almost any part. now I'm finding more and more stuff is NLA, or super expensive.

there is a ton of used stuff out there. and a lot of the parts can be rebuilt.

since I started doing my own maintenance, I keep a lot of the old parts just in case.

recent example being the oil cooler hoses. they are nla, and the aftermarket stuff is crap.

luckily rollguy was able to send me a rebuilt set using the original fittings and slapping on some new hose.

Just did mine in the spring. Literally the last Ansa muffler on the shelf.

For what it is worth, I think we are all stubborn which is why we drive these classics! Anyway, I think there is always a solution as many have mentioned with used parts on ebay or craigslist with donor cars, other chassis which may have similar parts, as you stated custome exhaust shops, etc. I wouldn't give up yet!
