Drive-shaft factory misaligned?

I drew a line straight along my drive shaft on my 84 300D and then removed it, but when I went to put the shaft back together and back in, I lined up the mark I made and then noticed the factory marks.
The two humps and bump on the shaft are completely misaligned, by about a whole 8th of a turn, or at least 4 splines.
My line is perfectly straight, but how are my factory marks so far apart and why wasn't it making vibration? How is this possible?

Should I line up the factory marks instead?

You are the original owner of this car I assume?

30 years is a long time to expect that someone hasn't had the drive shaft apart. Whomever put it back together is more likely to have done it wrong rather than to have had it balanced and intentionally set it as it is. I would put it back to factory after refurbishing everything and figure that it doesn't make much difference. You can always use the current marks if factory doesn't work.

Ive had the car for 4 years, I don't hate my previous owner, but he was certainly lazy.
Okay well I have it back in the car at the position I took it out in. How intense would the vibration be if it was critically misaligned? Also do the yoke connections have to be consistent? Or can you just connect them back up to the flex disc at any of the positions? I put mine back on the one it came from, but I like tracking these notes.

Do you know if it's the original driveshaft to the car? driveshafts prior to 82 had the marks mis-aligned from the factory. If someone replaced at with an older used part at some point, it would make sense.
