Trans fluid leak when car is on jacks

I've had my car sitting on jacks for a few weeks now, all 4 wheels off the ground. Since doing this, it's been steadily dripping transmission fluid. The trans was usually a bit moist, but it never dripped when the rear wheels were on the ground. It seems to be coming from round the driveshaft flange area.

Forgive my ignorance of transmissions, but what part do you suppose is causing the leak?

it's the rear transmission seal, probably.

this is a general procedure for the W123 - Remove Driveshaft and Replace Rear Transmission Seal - Mercedes-Benz Forum

im sure there is a 190D centric guide here somewhere.

Thanks! I wasn't sure what it was called to try to find a guide for it.

good luck! on W123 it's not a huge deal. it also depends on your definition of 'huge deal'. driveshaft has to come out.

if it only happens on jacks ignoring it is an option :-)
