240D shift boot options

Rubber shift boot has a creeping split, think it's time to replace.
Both ebay and amazon options fairly ho-hum.

Recommendations from any fellow manual aficionados?

Are you referring to the rubber option? Was hoping for something a little more... pliable. Like leather. Or in theory, a boot made for a 300D or a higher end 240.

Check out Redline .... they offer real leather ones, many colors and many stich color options on the cheaps. I think cheaper than MB with coupon or write-up. Around $20 bucks or so with shipping. Very good quality. I know, I got a red leather one.

I sewed one from a scrap of black vinyl after the rubber thing disintegrated.

Look up some google images for diy shift boot. it is such a small job it can be done with a needle and thread or a speedy stitcher awl.

Interesting idea re: diy...

The one you bought on pelican, had a look. Appears to be rubber?

Looks just like the one that came with the car. It kinda matches my base model hubcaps, crank windows and all of the other options this Benz doesn't have.

Higher end 240? 240D is a 240D. All 123's had the same shift boot's from the factory. You can still get them though mine was made in Turkey and is a really low quality material compared to the original.

Kinda what I figured. I remember seeing a 240 when I was car hunting that had a burl wood gear shifter. People who owned the car didn't strike me as aftermarket types so I concluded (falsely it appears) there must be some variation across models
