W140 300sd block #
I'm looking at a 93 300sd. Owner says it has a 3.0 swap in it. On the flange by the fuel filter the last 2 numbers are 97. Is this a 3.0 or 3.5 block? Thanks!

Last 2 numbers? It'll be of the form 6039xx12yyyyyy.
For xx: 60 = 3.0 124 engine 61 = 3.0 126 engine 70 = 3.5 126 engine 71 = 3.5 140 engine Sixto 98 E320s sedan and wagon Last edited by sixto; 10-14-2017 at 11:10 AM. |

Sorry it was dirty. All i saw was the 97! Here's the full number 603 960 12 010 097. Is the block from a w124 3.0 or the 3.5? It does have the #22 head. It does seem to run good but i've already gone through the cracked head on a w124 and can't make another mistake! Thanks for the reply.

It's a 3.0 124 block. Do you have carfax report?

I didn't bother with a carfax. It's basically a beater car but I wanted something to possibly fix up in the future. Thanks for your help!!

I'm wondering if it's the white '93 SD I totaled around 2005.
