Solution - broken Photobucket images!

Photobucket ruined many good threads from years gone by with their 3rd party hosting restrictions.

Luckily someone came up with a solution:

If you're having trouble viewing Photobucket-hosted images, then add the chrome extension "photobucket embed fix".

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-embed-fix/naolkcpnnlofnnghnmfegnfnflicjjgj

Here's a thread w/ PB hosted images that can be used as a test:

HOW TO - BOOST GAUGE INSTALLATION

Hope this fixes the issue!

Thanks to T5CO over on the Swedespeed forums for digging this up!

A similar add-in is available for Firefox. Just click on Add-Ons and search for Photobucket Embed Fix.

I wonder what Photobucket thinks about these "fixes"?

Thanks for posting the fix! Works fine on my Chromebook. I am sure Photobucket don't like it but there is nothing they can do about it. Who cares what they think?

Great suggestion!! This issue has been driving me nuts for some time. The extension has a different name in Opera, but it works since Opera is a modified Chrome.

THANKS AGAIN!!

As we can be reasonably sure they are not a fan of this add-on, yes, actually there is something they can do about it. They can take action against the add-on creator for violating their terms of service, a legal agreement. They can also modify their server side code so that this add-on no longer works.

This add-on is not a solution. It is a (likely temporary) workaround, at best. That said, it is a clever add-on.

Looks like the fix is temporary. Photobucket broke it again.

I use one called Photobucket Fixer on Firefox and it's still working.
