1979 300SD W116 Advice please!

I purchased a 79' 300SD and the engine and tranny seem good enough especially for $600 bucks however, the interior is in some need of TLC and it seems like I have my work cut out for me in this regard.
I used to have a beautiful 300SDL and I knew that car well but I have never owned a W116.

My question/s are:
1. What is the transmission type of this vechicle? 722.0 or 722.1?

2. Any tips on making pitted chrome look good without replacement or rechroming?

3. Any tips on the moonroof seal replacement?

4. Does anyone have a repair manual in PDF?

Thanks in advance...I don't expect perfect answers for ALL these but any help on any one or more would be greatly appreciated!

Putty (back from the dead and back in a Benz!)

1) I believe it is a 722.12, the transmission serial number on the right(?) lip should have these digits in the actual number.
If it was rebuilt by the factory the serial numbers will be ground off and a rebuild serial number plate will be attached to the left front of the bellhousing.

2) Some of the interior pieces that look like chrome-plated metal are acually plastic.

They are: the interior triangular trim piece on the DS and PS mirrors, the surround on the window switches on the center console, the rings around the vertical door locks, and the trim piece between the door card and the vertical window moulding.

The coating comes off fairly easily, so I gently clean with a mild dish washing liquid solution and an old soft cotton rag from a T-shirt.

Much of the exterior trim is acutally alumimun, which I don't even attempt to polish.

Pitted chrome plating on the bumpers and door handles can be polished with a diet cola and a piece of aluminum foil.

3) IDK, but I pulled a whole sunroof from the junkyard to practice on...when time permits.

4) W116 FSM
