MONARK NOZZLES Question
What is so good bout this nozzles? I am new in this so please forgive me for asking perhaps stupid question.
|
Monark and Bosio nozzles are better replacements than modern Bosch nozzles due to tighter manufacturing tolerances and a better spray pattern. That's really about it. The Monarks are also a better choice if you're running WVO due to their spray pattern.
|
The Monark are made in Germany, while modern Bosch are made in India. Bosio is made in Italy. As a general rule of thumb, european made is going to be higher quality than indian made.
|
Monarks are simply higher quality. You get your money's worth with the European nozzles. Your diesel will be very happy with Bosios or Monarks. Not so much with those Bosch things.
|
I have a set of both in the my 617 turbos.
The BOSCH nozzles have a small pintile passage that can get clogged, especially with WVO use. They are louder and run rougher. The MONARK nozzles dont have small passages to get clogged. They are noticeably quieter and smoother running. Fuel mileage are unoticeably similar. I dont have bosio experience. |

The later Bosch Nozzles have a similar design to the Monak Nozzles but are still made in India. No point in paying the same or more for a lower quality Nozzle or chinese copies. The Monark and later Bosch Nozzles use a flat spot on the side that allows for the idle fule to pass and does not clog up like the drilled passages. Bosio Nozzles have no special mechining for the idle Fuel. The attached diagram shows the very tiny drilled passages #14 and #15 that are in the stock Bosch Nozzle for the 617 engines. Note that if the Car owner does regular Diesel Purges those passages will likely remain clean. But once they are clogged up the Diesel Purge fluid likely cannot pass into the drilled passages (you likely have to take the Nozzle apart and pick the Carbon out of the passages or use an ultrasonic cleaning take to get them cleaned out). |
There is also a thread or 2 on fake Bosch Injector Nozzles.
Back around 1990 I bought some VW Rabbit Disel Injector Nozzles from a Bosch Certified Fuel Injection Shop (this was before the flood of Chinese fuel injection parts were available). They were made in Brazil and preformed and lasted as well as the German or French Bosch Nozzles. As it turns out Brazil made their own VWs. |
