300SDL transmission, which are the return and feedlines?

If i'm in front of the car, like opening the hood in front of the car, is the feedline for the transmission is on the right hand side and the return line is on the left hand side correct?

That means hot fluid is supposed to enter the bottom of the transmission cooler and the cooled fluid exits the top correct?

Don't forget to grease the screw and threads on the spring compressor.

I'm sure everyone else is in the same boat I am - what is it you're asking? The transmission cooler on the SDL is in the bottom of the radiator, the lines are horizontal, there is no top and bottom.

I don't know the answer but think I understand the question.

Which factory line is the flow of fluid from the transmission, passenger side or driver side? Father of Giants is asking so that he knows which old line, passenger or driver side to connect to the stand alone auxiliary cooler inbound/supply fitting he is installing; since, the auxiliary cooler will have a top and bottom line not side-by-side horizontal like the original.

I should of added more information.

I'm bypassing the radiator transmission cooler, my transmission cooler is mounted so that the feed and return ports are stacked horizontal above one another.

So the right side of the transmission line is in the bottom of the aftermarket transmission cooler.

The left side is one on the top end of the aftermarket transmission cooler.

Hot in the bottom.
cold out top.

I thought that's how you where supposed to set up the aftermarket transmission cooler.

The flow direction in an aux cooler is irrelevant. One way is as good as the other.

Yes, it's a pumped flow as opposed to natural convection.
