92 300d 2.5 turbo won’t start.
I bought a 92 300d the other day that dosnt run. The guy said it was running one day and parked it. Than went to start it a few days later and it wouldn’t start. Say last time it ran was in August. Motor has around 350k on it. Was his daily driver up till than running fine. It turns over ok but won’t start. It’s got fuel at injectors. Ip was all wet so replaced ether o rings and copper washer on IP outlets. Another benz I had leaked around them to so had an extra set of orings/was her laying around. Even if you put a lil gas in air filter it won’t start. Glow plug light is coming on and powering up glow plugs. Plugged block heater in too to see if that would help, bc maybe glow plugs aren’t heating up good? Still no start. Any thing anybody might be able to tell me to check on this thing? I am a mechanic in real life so kinda know what I’m doing but jus scratching my head. Iv got a few 300d’s this model and also 123’s so been beating with old diesels for a while now. Thanks for any help...

Do you have voltage at the glow plugs?
Mine starts with being pluged in after 4 hours without glow plugs. Did you confirm the block heater is working, the valve cover shoud be warm to your hand. It takes 4 maybe 5 long cranks to bleed all the air out but seemslike you have that covered already.
Yeah block heater is working. Motor was warmed up. Iv got to get a new battery for meter so can chech to make sure power is really getting to glow plugs. I did jump the glow plugs off with a hot wire to make sure they where getting power and sparked when connected so I know a few glow plugs are working. Normally on theses year cars the glow pug light will stay on if one or more glow plugs are burnt out. When cycling the key I hear glow plug relay clicking and the light comes on for a few and than goes off like it should when warmed up.

And I do have fuel at each injector when all are cracked. Still no start when all are closed up

Got voltage at all the glow plugs and fuel at all injectors. Might have to try to pull the glow plugs and see if the are good
It dosnt even try to start. Even with some gas on poured into the air box.
Have you tried turning it over by hand to feel for compression? Removed the oil filler to see cam moving?
compression?
rotate it and see what the engine feels like. any resistance?
Try running a bottle of purge from a bottle with fuel supply and return lines into the bottle.

Yeah I’m gonna check compression next. Jus got to pull intake to get to some glow plugs so can install tester. Jus don’t know why it was running one day and then not a week later, as the guy said. He could not f been lying though so who knows. Thanks
