For fun, I just bought a 67 Finny 200D.
Pretty cool car. 4 on the floor with a bad case of the slops. Everything works including the AC. Just a little rust here and there that I'll have to repair/bondo/paint at some point. Guess I'll have to hang out in Vintage some now.
How many other W110 Diesel owners are out there? (did search only saw a couple). Looking forward to paying minimal premium classic car insurance.

My first Benz was a 68 200D, still the same as yours. I bought in 86 when I was 19. If Mercedesshop.com was around then it would still be on the road today! The car was near showroom when I got it. Believe it or not, it turned alot of heads back then.
My car didn't come with a/c though. Great little car, just don't expect to get anywhere too fast in it. Good luck with it! BTW, thats when the MB diesel bug got me! ~George~ |

That was my first diesel benz as well. Bought it in 90 just for fun. $500. Was a little rough on the body, auto, no air. Loved the fins and the bullet ti@@y headlights (as my Dad called them) Fixed the body and painted it white just like the picture above. Had a prechamber tip break off after driving one day while it sat in the driveway. Went to start it and it would not turn over. So ended up rebuilding the head which was more than the car cost. Ran great for another 3 years and sold it because I wanted A/C and speed. Never could get the diesel bug out of my system so I sold the POS dodge and bought the 300d a couple of years ago. As long as I can find them I will be stuck with MB diesels.

200D
A good friend had a 67 200D for about 2 years- I drove it and took care of it mainly, so I pretty much considered it mine...
It was papyrus white over a medium blue tex interior, about 98k miles, all original condition- a good daily driver condition (even placed in the daily driver class at MBCA car show in Boston, MA before we sold it). It had 4 on the floor- all we did to it was a new clutch, and I put a starter in it (kind of necessary after 2 Boston winters w/o a block heater). I remember driving that car was such a workout, especially compared to my 126 chassis 300SD. In dead of winter, between fighting with the manual steering and shifting like a madman to keep up with traffic, I'd reach my destination a sweaty mess, coat thrown into the backseat... Driving that car was an absolute blast. She moved in town, and didn't want it to get destroyed, so we sold it to a couple in NH who made many updates to make it perfect. Wish I could see it again. |

That will be my next prodject after my 75 240d........
You just cant beat the looks of a vintage MB!!!! The reason for my 75 w115 is the fact that it has the classic look compaired to the w123 chassis, but a w110...... that makes me drool!!!:p Nice cars.... please take care of them...... one day they might be mine!!!!! |

Cool. Mine is cream/white with Black MB Tex. The AC is a "Kuhlmeister" and from records looks to have been installed in 1980. Got lots of extra parts too. May need future help from the guys who have done rust repairs. Not planning on spending much other than time on it though. However, I do need a front driverside fender if any one has a line on one.
