Tell me how I can manually pull my antenna into the up position!!! W123
My beater daily 1980 300d w123 daily driver obviously has a broken hirsxhmann that is stuck in the all the way down position.
Is there a way that I can pull it up by hand? So it will be stuck in the "all the way up position". If so, can someone explain to me how to do it please? Thank u And btw I'm not worried about having a easy way to push it back down because I don't use automatic car washes with this car. |
Whenever I have a bad power antenna, I just swap in an off-the-shelf manual antenna from Autozone or some such place.

Remove the nut on the top , that holds the mast in to the car wing .If the tip of the antena is not broken ,,you should be able to pull it out with the key and radio switched on .If its broken off and gone right inside .The whole mast will need taking out of the wing .Then open it all up you will see how to remove it at that stage .

Thanks guys I got it up. And ya I was actually just thinking off getting an "no name" antenna, good idea.
Although after pulling it up I think I've confirmed my antenna is not the problem. The crackling must be coming from the speakers and pos deck |
I just bought new aftermarket replacement unit for $33 for my SD. (Same one for the D). Too inexpensive to bother putting a manual one in, just replace the whole unit. The toughest part was figuring out which wire goes where, but a meter and about 10 minutes of thought solved that.

A 126,can be turned up,or down by opening the case and turning the gears.

w123 is selling mast for your car below

I used channel locks, and a hammer to get mine up.

You know about the switch on the consol by gear shift .It operates the arial for the car wash.

for some reason on w140s it gets green corrosion at the plug for power, and can't be cleaned off.So does coil number three at fire wall.
