Shut Off Valves
Apparently both these style shut off valves fit my 1993 300d. I'm wondering how the metal style one would stay secure with no "wings" on the side for bolts? Does it just hammer in?
I would rather have the metal style because in the past I have broken the plastic stem while removing the ALDA.

Just answered my own question. I found a picture that shows little tabs that bolt on.
Looks easier to get to the rear bolt wit this style as well. Anyone know where to get those "tabs"?

Do not suppose you want to hammer it in. On my 300 SD it slides in the back of the injection pump and a cover is bolted over it. See post #11 for a very good picture in my old thread about replacing my bad shut off valve:

In fact the metal one that I installed was Chinese-made and failed within a few months; the seller graciously mailed me another one and I have had no problem since. |

Thanks, I will probably have to fashion something to hold it on.
