0M602 Radiator Hoses

I now know that the upper and lower radiator hoses for my '91 300D are NLA. I was going to replace the OE hoses this weekend (along with my fan clutch and water pump). My hoses don't show any signs of wear, other than being a bit soft. I guess I'll keep them in place... for now.

So what's the best advice for finding hoses? Fabricate? Dealer? Seance with Ouija Board?

I found a couple of OEM hoses for my 190DT on Ebay and I'm hoarding them. You'll find aftermarket hoses listed, but the fit can be bad. Be especially careful if you install an aftermarket upper, as they tend to rub the pump pulley. You might be able to use a flex hose, but they don't look right. There's no generic substitute for the lower hose.

I prefer the magic eight ball myself. "My sources say maybe!"

One place worth checking out is a custom hose shop. Especially if you have an OE part you can send them as a template, they can duplicate its dimensions exactly. Custom made silicone hoses are pretty common in aftermarket turbo applications. If enough 602 owners team up you could do a group buy on a full set of custom 602 coolant hoses.

This is the first place that comes up with a google search:

I got lucky and found a really nice OEM lower hose on a parts car in the junkyard and I'm hoarding it..
The upper hose should still be available, the lower one will take some creativity to fabric up but shouldn't be too bad..

edit: It's not the lower hose those are still available, it's the y-hose that connects three tubes below the turbo..
