CDI: What is leather and what is MB Tex?

I remain somewhat confused as to what on my 06 CDI is leather and what is MB Tex.

On the data card, I see the following:

130A MB TEX-LEATHER, TWIN/ARTICO
138A MB TEX-LEATHER, TWIN/ARTICO-GRAY
280 LEATHER STEERING WHEEL AND GEAR SHIFT KNOB

From the looks of things, I've been assuming that the steering wheel, the shifter knob, and the seat insets are leather and that everything else is MB Tex. But I'm not really sure. It may be that EVERYTHING is MB Tex except for the steering wheel and shifter....and that's what's meant by MB Tex-Leather. Anyone have any insights?

In addition to curiosity, I'm interested in knowing what's what so I know what parts to treat with leather conditioner. I use Griot's...if it won't hurt MB Tex, perhaps I could use it everywhere.

Thanks.

As far as I know:
Tex is vinyl.
Tex-leather is leather.

My ML has Tex vinyl.
My CDI has Tex-leather.

Even "real leather" can be a combination of leather and plastic resins. But that can be a superior product. Wikipedia has a good write-up. As far as I know, the MB-Tex in my W123 cars is fully synthetic, and not damaged by water.

Greg, what if anything do you use on the leather as a conditioner?
