What is this sealant?

Pulled the window trim off the 300cd last nght. Foam seals are short, but I'm trying to figure out what this non hardening putty is. It's tan and not sticky like the window glazing, but also scrapes off easily. You can see it in the second FSM illustration. It looks like spackle between the trim and body.

A form of seam sealer most likely. I've seen it as a brush on product and also as a tape.

It looks like seam sealer (I've used evercoat brand), but can be easily scraped off. Normal seam sealer usually takes a wire brush and drill.

Plumber's putty, perhaps? That was standard on windshield seal-to-body applications.

3m makes a gray version of “plumbers putty” in litttle strips. My father in law uses that in his auto body shop regularly.

Thanks for the replies. Going to get some 3m caulking strips and give it a go. Now comes the fun part... getting all the old crap off.
