Removing/Reinstalling/Aligning W123 oil pressure gauge needle?

Hey Guys,

Have any of you, on your W123s, remove the needle on the mechanical oil pressure gauge? How did you go about re-aligning?

I have never tried to remove one, I am too afraid to do so. However, if I was to remove one, I would lift it over the stop pin, and mark where it is at rest ( mark on a piece of tape on the gauge face). When reinstalling, press the needle in the same place, and then lift it over the pin. This is just theory, YMMV.

You can also realign by pressurizing the gauge to 1bar and reattaching the needle at the 1bar mark.
