Hi All,

Hit another stumbling block again!

I have so many numbers (see pics) and not sure which one is the tranny code to order parts! This tranny is numbers galore!

Thanks again.

A '74 will have a 722.1 series transmission. Mercedes has a part number for every casting, which is what you're seeing in the photos you've posted. Look somewhere for a 722.1xx type number.

The general type is 722.1xx (aka, W 4 B 025). It is probably a 722.102.
The MB part# is 115 270 12 01. The serial# is 006145.

The 722.xxx number was usually not stamped in prior to the 722.3.

Thanks, Diseasel300, but could not find any other number.

Thanks, Frank. Seems like its a 722 transmission as the front seal I ordered (assuming its a 722) earlier fit perfectly.

In the MB vernacular, 722=automatic transmission; any MB autobox.
It's the .0, .1, .2, .3, .4, .5, .6, etc. that tells us what type of MB autobox we are dealing with.
