2008 E320 Bluetec Air Intake Ducts

Today in order to replace my fuel filter I needed to remove the air intake ducts to gain access to the fuel filter.
Replacing fuel filter was not a big deal but reinstall the air duct was really a headache. I did this way: install half of the right side (driver side) first and then align the turbo neck while trying to insert the left side. The problem is when you have the turbo and the right side inserted the left will not get properly installed. It will get jammed outside of the air filter housing.
Any instruction in how to do it easier?
Thanks

Step 1. Assemble each air filter with the new element inside.
Step 2. Install the Tee shape duct onto the Turbo inlet.
Step 3. install one of the filters on the pins at the bottom but rock the top of the filter outward towards the fender.
Step 4. Install the other filter the same way.
Step 5. Rock one of the filters inward at the top and connect it to the Tee shape duct.
Step 6. Do the same on the other filter.
Step 7. Install the two bolts on the top of each filter.

Step 8. Smile and wash the blood of your fingers.

I can add to that, the back bolts are captive. What I do is preinstall the back bolts in the sleeves before inserting the boxes back in the engine compartment. Now the back bolts are ready to go. Then once I get the back bolts started then I put the fronts in loosely and then start snugging everything up.

Tighten the band clamps on the sides last.

Highly recommend you change the crankcase breather puck and the red ring seal on the turbo while you are in there.

And you have to do adaptations on the ECU for the new air filters with a diagnostic system.
