Made a snafu and may have cut the frame on working on my 72 220D.. Opinions
Well the irony is that this is a rather rust free vehicle from texas and hence has zero structural rust. Then I go ahead and make a 2" cut in the frame
While replacing the exhaust on my 220D I realized the downpipe had a huge crack. I took my cutter and went to work on cutting the cracked part of the pipe off to sleeve a fresh piece of pipe onto the downpipe. In the process my goggles fogged up and I accidentally cut about 1-1.5" into the corner of this frame rail. Stupid. I know. I don't have a welder so, think I can get away with filling it with some sort of epoxy and painting over it or should i take it to a shop and have it welded ? |

Glue won't work in this application. Have it welded and paint inside / outside of the frame rail. This is an easy fix.
Structural adhesive is used for new car builds and repairs however, only for lap joints not butt joints. |

^^^Completely agree^^^
Structural, get it professionally welded after drilling a hole in each end of the cut to stop it from traveling. Nice looking car, Good Luck!!!

A question. Are those XZX tires original or reproductions?

OOPS
Yep ;
Get it properly welded, not a big deal just takes a little effort to set right again .
