I don't know if it has ever been updated and if updated when that was last done.
The Glow Plugs that go into Aluminum Cylinder heads are know to sometimes break when you try to remove them. It is a good idea to read some of the threads on how to reduce the chance of that happening. Hey thanks for the reply Diesel911, yea ive been reading and apparently with the warm engine and the use of the special socket one can minimize the glow plug breaking.
Ive had the car parked for 4 years now but im ready to drive it now.

It has 6 cylinders and 6 glow plugs. I wonder where I can find my extra cylinder in the om606?

Your best bet is to use an impact gun on a warm engine to get the plugs out. Plus PB blaster.

Spraying Kriol, PB Blaster or some other penetrating oil several days where they thread is also helpful. The first two choices are supposed to be the best.

I wonder if anyone here is willing to rent me the gp reamer?

Not that expensive and also easy to make. Swivel socket from any auto part store.

besides Mercedes Source in Wa state and the 200 dollar one already mentioned in other links i cant find a reasonably priced glow plug reamer for om606.

I believe this is the one you need, check dims in pic.
No name reamer from my toolbox and never used it, I had to send the head out to be remachined and they removed a stuck GP.
I had a shorter one I loaned out and it never was returned
If its the one you need contact me!

Been there and done that. My one tip ... do it on a hot engine.

NEVER loan tools to a STRANGER even if only "down the road a piece!"

well, after a long debate I have to announce I got screwed by Europower!
Being a local I thought it not a problem to loan him my GP reamer.
Like doing a good deed for a mechanic in distress?????
:o:o:o:o
We connected by PM and I sent it to him with a return address and a nice box for the trip home some 15 miles South of his San Francisco address where he asked e to send it.
This was before the Christmas Holiday and at the end of the year I sent him an email asking how it was going, was the job done?
He replied he thought I GAVE the reamer to him, not on a loan? (NO WHERE did I say it was a FREEBIE!) then he went on to say he was in PUERTO RICO but the car was actually located over a hundred miles from San Francisco. Confused? so am I!:confused:

So I asked him to replace it if he wasn't able to return it, and I even sent a link on PeachParts website that shows a new GP Reamer for the OM646 sells for what - $85?
I haven't heard from the last email I sent about 10 days ago so I guess I got screwed :eek:
The moral of this is NEVER let a tool out of your possession without a monetary deposit!

Hello you did not get screwd one bit, ive been travelling for my holiday and now going to send you the money for the reamer. My son just had a bone marrow transplant and my mother died and had to bury her, all over the holiday with a lot of stress. I have no need to rip you off over 85 dollars and yes the only reason i didnt return it is i clearly understood you had said to me “dont worry about returning the reamer” im not a thief and i dont hear voices.

OK, sorry to hear the circumstances, my request was don't worry about returning it before the holiday period.
I wonder why the return address label I enclosed didn't clue you to the need to return
This is very sad and I hope all is forgiven
