om617 waterpump ?

Hi, all I was wondering why there are two types of waterpump on my om617 one is a shorter and the other one is longer both fit or?

It has to do with pulley alignment, so only one will fit. Some engines have different crank pulleys and options. It might also be the difference between a naturally aspirated and a turbocharged engine and different vehicles and years.

measure from the mounting flange to the block to the mounting flange for the fan and see which one it is.

I recently had a major water leak from the water pump housing area. Removed the water pump + its housing and turned out to be a hole from corrosion..anywho I swapped the whole unit straight from one of my .952 engines, so at least NA and turbo are the same, I think its the .93x in the G wagens which have longer pumps.

euro cars also have long nose water pump. Just tried to fit a short nose.
