Timing device bushing
I've done all the research and gone to mercedes but to no prevail. I have an 83 300d w123 and my vacuum pump is going bad. I suspect its partially because of the end play in the timing device, given my engine has 600k miles on it, so I plan to go ahead and replace the worn bushing before installing a rebuilt pump. All I need is a new forward timing device bushing but they do not seem to exist.
SOMEONE HELP! The part that says bushing for clarification. |

It is listed as a Bearing (item 41). If you want to replace the bronze part on the intermediate shaft that wears out, this is the one to order. Not to confuse matters but the "sleeve" in your photo is listed as a Bushing in EPC under part number 617 075 01 50. It is not made of bronze and is NLA. It has been replaced by two parts, 617 07 00 51 (Spacer/ANLAUFRING) and 617 075 02 50 (Bushing/BUCHESE) I incorrectly ordered these two parts to replace the bronze bushing. If I had seen your photo, I would not have made that mistake. I guess we should call the part by its proper name, ie. "the bronze bearing located on the intermediate shaft".

6170520106 is what I ordered when I replaced my intermediate shaft bushing, and the one shown in the OP photo is what I got.

After reading this article about the bushing 6170520106 I decided they might become scarce so I just bought one on eBay for $24 (made by LASO) from the UK so there is some money loss also due to the currency conversion that Pay Pal takes. The Seller has one left.
I noticed that you can often find stuff on the UK eBay that is not sold on the US eBay. That info came from this site: https://www.precisionintl.com/StockSearch.aspx?Search=20055001

I order a Timer Intermediate Shaft Bushing and the seller never shipped it. Got the money back to day.
Well I would swear that eBay paid me my Money back on the Timer Bushing but it showed up today! Small box came 5 Greek Stamps on it and inside of the Box wrapped with a Greek Magazine page. I am wondering if it was shipped late and got caught in the government shutdown which could be effecting customs.
