Nice overview… Glad I own two of these.

Another interesting thing I've read recently is that the SBC braking system is now fully warranted for 25, yes, Twenty Five, years! So a 2030 and 2031 for a CDI..... might consider one at some point now! Maybe if/when my 320 wagon bites the dust eventually from rust.

E320 CDI

Those are absolutely great videos! I particularly lied the "Black Death" one. I have a 2005 E320CDi and agree is almost the perfect car.

Check out his later videos on the car where he's fighing to remove a black death infested injector. Fun times. He over paid for it imho.

Yes but CDIs don't get the leaky fuel tank warranty extension even tho they're suffer from the same problem.

Its a lot less dangerous to work on a diesel fuel tank than a gasoline model at least....

Wish I had kept my CDI, pretty sure my injectors would have came out somewhat easily.

We have not heard from you in a while, how have you been?

I think you were very instrumental in helping me decide to get a CDI. Yes, you should have kept it. I have only seen one other green one, but not in person, just a photo. I really like the green color.....Rich

I needed a vehicle I could put large items in and a CDI wagon doesn’t exist so I got the Element to do the trick.

Everything is good. I pop in every now and then to check on OD and instaban trolls

Indeed, a wagon is great. I settled on a W211 wagon, even though it is gas powered.
I don't know if you have seen this thread:http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/394294-feasability-cdi-drivetrain-swapped-into-e320-wagon.html
Lord willing, I will do this one day.

Did your 04 wagon have it's fuel tank replaced yet? If not I would pop the driver's side cover and check it out. I bought my 04 wagon a month ago, did a bunch of work to it then finally filled it up with gas. Next morning garage reeked of gasoline, fuel was pooling on top of the tank on the driver's side. Contacted MBUSA and they said I had 4 months left on my 15 year fuel tank warranty. Took it in to the dealer and 5 days later I had my wagon back with a new fuel tank, sender, pump hoses etc for $0. Previous owner probably sold it because of the fuel tank leak, not knowing about the warranty extension.

I don't know if the former owner had it replaced or not. I have not had a problem, but I am sure it would not hurt to check it out.

Take it to the dealer and have them pull a VMI on it, that will tell you whether it's been done or not.

On the wagon you can pull the driver's side fuel tank access cover in about a minute. Its really obvious if it's been replaced or not. I would hate to run into this problem after the warranty runs out. Sometimes the fuel leak is small there isn't an obvious smell.
