4Spd fluid change

Any special tips on changing the fluid on a 81 240d 4spd, done several on the vehicle makes but this will be the first Benz 4spd.

Pretty straight forward, remove the fill plug first...oil the shifter, adjust the linkages and replace any worn shift linkage bushings. It makes a BIG improvement you'll feel every shift.

You might consider replacing the shifter and shifter linkage bushings with delrin. Likely the bushings in the shifter are considerably worn.

Yup making a list of the bushings.. I used Derlin on my vw rabbit truck.. Loved it so will probably stick with that.... On another note hot the rear diff swap done today so I now have a 3.69 ready for sale!!!

Someone please elaborate about delrin...I'm not familiar with it. Are the delrin bushings made for W124 automatic shifter bushings?

I'm not aware of anything similar for auto shifters.
