Looking to see if anyone has an idea of who had the om606 head machined before. I’m gonna put all new guides and have the seats grinded or honed to spec. I’ll mic out the valves before hand and see what needs to be replaced but I’m thinking a lot of the valves are fine. This in reference to my 530k e300. Wonder what this will run me $.
Any advice and experience on what to expect would be appreciated. First time delving into a high mileage head. I’ve never had to perform this work before. I have minimal crank case pressure and excellent cold starts in cold weather. Just a misfire and ping on the top end with no response to cracking cyl 2 injector hardline. For sure a head issue of some sort. Thinking either valve, guide or weak spring.
