OM617 Removal Time Lapse

https://youtu.be/tnrS6H9PRZo

I made some good visual progress on my engine swap last night. Decided to make a short video.

Nice. When I pulled the 616 out of my 240D I forgot to unbolt the engine shock and I spend longer than I'd like to admit rocking the engine around and trying to figure out what was lifting the whole car when I was lifting the engine.

Why didn't you pull the engine+trans as a unit?

I did, trans is attached. I also forgot to inbolt a few things, like the driveshaft and trans link.

Don't know how I missed that. What are you swapping in?

The 300SD is a parts car, putting that engine into my W115 240D. Mods I will have to do to make it fit are install a remote oil filter kit on the engine, and cut the sub-frame to allow more clearance for deeper oil pan on 617.
