Mercedes Locksmith

I had to replace the driver side external door handle on my 82 300SD. Now I have to have two keys. One to open the door, and another to start the car and open the pax side door and trunk. Ive called numerous locksmiths in the Atlanta area. none want to rekey the tumbler. Anyone know a locksmith that can re key a door handle lock?

There used to be a locksmith on Cheshire Bridge, on the left after you turn off Piedmont Rd toward Lindbergh. I would say maybe a quarter to half a mile from Piedmont. They made a new key for my Land Rover a while back.

If they are still there, they might be able to help you.

Good folks.

There was also one at the corner of Roswell Rd and Hammond Drive. SW corner and facing Hammond.

Rekeying the locks are actually pretty easy, but time consuming. I had to do it for my car. If you want I can go ahead and make a tutorial for it if you like. I could probably get it done tomorrow morning if you want. It's pretty easy to rekey.

Not at all nowadays it's not time-consuming because locksmith have now tools to re-key locks through which they can re-key your locks on the same day.

The biggest problem is getting pins / wafers to do the job. Also not all car locks are easy to disassemble if even possible.

Thumbs up Re - Key Tutorial

YES PLEASE ! .

I don't know how to get the lock cylinder out of the W123 handle....

After that it is indeed fairly simple, it just takes time and patience .
