Scored the finest w210 e300

For less than $1000. I bought it off a friend of mine who was agitated that the ac didn’t work (bad compressor) and power steering pump was on its way out. It has great paint, zero rust, dealer serviced since new, new cylinder head (snapped glow plug). Looks sharp and is my favorite color, brilliant silver. I ended up replacing the 21 year old alternator that broke shortly after I bought it but other than the suspension is perfect. Not a squeak to be heard. New shocks, springs etc. 257k and about as close to showroom as a 21 year old car can get.

The headlights could afford to be polished. I believe it needs an injection pump. I spoke with the tech who serviced it since new and he diagnosed the pump as bad. It has a rough idle in park. If you load the electrical system with lights or climate control it goes away. From what I’ve read and what he’s told me there’s a wire inside the injection pump that can break and causes the erratic idle.

My other 99 e300 does the same thing. It doesn’t affect drivability however by any means. It makes great power.

Here’s some pics

Congrats on the car.

You can resize easily on imgur by putting an s, m, l, or h after the image code. Very handy because you can keep the full size image there in case you need to show closeups or details. The admins of this site should also consider auto-resize.

She is a beauty. I love the w210s. I’ve had at least 10 e300s. I’m tired of the projects I bought, fixing rust and numerous other problems. I got one nice one for a smoking deal for $0 in parts just my time considering I have a parts car.

The depos I’m looking into seem to be really sweet looking. I’ve seen them with HIDs as well. Which would light the road up very nicely. For about $260.

Thumbs up 99

My mother had a new 99 E320 in the same color. I would try and sneak it out whenever possible. Of course that was the first year of the infrared starting key and it was sometimes glitchy and not want to start the car, leaving me stranded where ever and with a mild panic attack. I don’t know about the E300 trim level, but the 99 E320 was the first year of the V6, and it came with an “all leather” interior instead of just seating surfaces. It had the newer fiber optic connected CD changer, Bose speakers, and the head unit with the cassette player hidden behind the LCD display. It also had side curtain airbags, the extra wood right around the shifter gate, the aformetioned infrared key and associated updated alarm system, and little things like the redesigned trunk release button in the center console that had to be lifted up for a couple seconds instead of simply being pressed, so as to avoid accidentally opening the trunk.
