85 300D clunking under shifter console

85 300D. Rattling/clunking under gear shift console, and this flew out from under my car ... it sounds like something is loose and jumping around when I accelerate. Any ideas?

You might take a look at your driveshaft center support. I suspect that at least one side is loose.

While you are down there look at the condition of the rear transmission mount. If fluid has been leaking on it; the rubber could be soft and mushy.

Hard to see but try to look at the flex discs on both ends of the drive shaft.

tangofox007 X2...one of the bolts that hold the center support driveshaft hanger/bearing support bolts fell out.

It would be better not to drive the car on the road until it is fixed. Not a big job, just get a bolt in advance from a hardware store about two times or a little longer the thickness of the retainer that you pictured.
Get a lock washer too.

Good luck!!!
