Front crank seal replacement Saga...

So here's what's happened

youtube playlist of the 6 part saga thus far.

short version, i think my front crank seal is leaking.

replaced it, i think it's still leaking...

may have to do it again and also replace the front spacer ring, even though i did the fingerneal test to see if a groove was worn in, and there wasn't so i left it in ( i also don't have a way to get it off :'( )

The spacer is not a tight fit. One can typically be pried off with two straight screwdrivers, used simultaneously, 180 degrees apart.

The lip of the front seal can easily get rolled over during the install, been there...

There is a special tool to prevent the roll over but you can fashion a plastic disposable cup as a funnel/guide to cover the sealing ring while installing the seal. Once the seal is in gently remove the plastic sleeve/cup.

Good luck!!!
