What bulb is best with Depo lights?

I'm going to put Depo Euro lights on my car. What is the best bulb to work with those on a W124?

The seller says "The manufacturer recommends utilizing halogen/incandescent bulbs in which are the following size: H4 (High/Low), H3 (Fog), W5W (Euro City Light)".

When I look online for H4 bulbs there must be 50 different types. 9003, 9004, 12v, 24v, 62248, and lots of other types. I'm assuming the same goes for the H3 bulbs.

Thanks,

I have Hella H4 and H3 lights installed in mine.

I think you’re stuck with H4 bulbs.

Is your question what type of illumination - halogen, xenon or LED?

Or what brand of bulb?

Yes, what type bulbs in general. H3, H4, halogen, xenon, etc. I don't know anything about them. All I know is that I ordered some Depo Euro lights to replace my original headlights.

Bulbs usually come included in depot headlights.

H4 is a form factor more than anything else. You can’t fit an H1 or H3 bulb in an H4 lamp.

The optics of your headlight are designed for halogen bulbs. You can get xenon and LED bulbs in H4 form factor but the light pattern might be dangerous to oncoming traffic.

Safe bet is to stay with H4 halogens. Safer to stay within the factory 65 watts range. I’ve seen H4s of twice that rating. The OE wiring can’t handle upwards of 100 watts for very long.

Osram night breaker bulbs are well regarded. I think Narva is another highly rated brand.

What part of the specific statement is unclear?
Headlights (High/Low) - H4 bulbs

Foglights - H3 bulbs

City Lights - W5W bulbs

The part that was unclear

The part that was unclear is what types of lights to get. The brand, the power, the type (halogen or incandescent or xenon). I guess when he says "city lights", he's talking about the European parking lights where you can light up the left or right side of the car so people can see your car when parked.

There’s more about automotive bulbs than can be reiterated here. We haven’t brought up color temperature yet  H4, HB2 and 9003 bulbs are practically interchangeable. Stick to 12V, obviously, or at least I hope it is. 62248 is an Osram part number for a 24V (semi truck?) H4 bulb.

Hopefully the Depos have bulbs installed - come to think of it i believe mine did - so this is a question for when those bulbs burn out :)

Turns out my new Depos have no bulbs

I didn't realize it but the new Depos I ordered have no bulbs in them and were advertised that way. I thought that's the way they all came, but maybe others do come with bulbs.

When I bought a set in 2015, it did not come with bulbs.
