Found an interesting cleaner for the chrome striping sling car windows

Lithium grease. It should last awhile since it’s made to stay and shed water , sprayed a little on a rag and began to wipe with some nice results.

What, pray tell, is a "sling car"?

Assume you are not talking about the aluminum shiny strips along the back windshield. No one has figured out how to re-shine them yet.

I read siling as a verb. As in the act of being the sil of a window.

I tried some super lube lithium grease on the anodized aluminum trim. Wow all the white chalk color is gone. It is not perfect but very shiny and much improved. I wiped it with a microfiber cloth. I hope it last a while. It sure looks nice.

If you want to spend the time then good old 1000, 2000 and 3000 polishing paper can shine them up again - you will need to clear coat it afterwards though.

When I had my W124 I had the top roof rails refinished at an anodizing shop in original hematite finish - the shop had no idea what hematite was so I had to come up with a sample - the original galaxy S phones had that finish on the edges. Came out very pretty - too bad the car is gone now.

Typo for "along" is my interpretation.
The 'a' is to the left of the 's' key and the 'i' is to the left of the 'o' key.
