Anyone recognize this part (round white plastic canister) found in the upper left hand corner of the trunk - no part number?

You've discovered the secret gubmint tracking device :eek: . Better got get your tin foil hat adjusted . On a serious note, I'm curious what it is too . Maybe a motion detector for the alarm ? . |

That would have been a mid-last century tracking device. The new ones are invisible.
Here's a top view out of the car. It says "direction of travel" pointing at the three prongs to which a plug was attached that ran a cable into the car. |

As it has three wires, does that mean it also has the level sensor ? .
