Need Wiring help Connector x26/7 pin 3
I am rebuilding the wiring harness for the 95 E300D I recently acquired but ran into a mysterious wire set.
There is a set of wires that appear to go to a connector or something near the injection pump. All I have are the wire ends and I cannot find the connector. One of the wires go to one of the pins for the idle pot and the other goes to Pin 3 on connector x26/7. This is the main 14 pin connector behind the battery and is listed as "Engine harness connector (12 pole)" (yea, it's 14 pin not 12). I have identified the 13 other pins but can not find pin 3 in any of the wiring diagrams. I wonder if it is for the Cruise system but I can not seem to locate a connector on the CC box behind the IP (maybe it's just a vacuum amplifier or something). Also, I do not see another wire coming off the ISC actuator in the wiring diagram. I have looked through the A/C system diagram to see if it's something there to no avail. Any ideas? -Richard |
There is a square connector that goes to the body near the injection pump, it has wires for the temperature sensor for the Glow relay, the HVAC pushbutton and the gauge in the cluster. - should have a white, blue and some else.
I think you are looking at the idle speed control piece, it has a red wire (solid 12V) and a controlled ground from the ELR cube (idle speed) - there is another connector there in the harness that doesnt connect to anything, the difference is that its straight and the idle one in angled. If you cannot find a wiring pointer for it, trace the wire to the harness big connector and trace it back to one of the controller holders there, the entire thing unbolts and you can then DMM it. The colors are also visible if you pop the back of the connector shells off. Just remembered, the one extra connector you will have, will only have one wire in it. Leave it be - it doesnt go anywhere. |
For future reference I checked the body side connector and there was not even a female pin in the opposing connector... so I left that whole wire out.
I assume this was the extra connector you were referring to. I have a different question regarding the 4 pin temp sender but I will start a new post for that. Richard |
Pin 3 on X26/7 goes to Pin 1 of the ARA 2-pin connector. It looks just like the ELR connector, but is only required for manual transmission cars. If your IP doesn't have the ARA solenoid, just leave that connector free.
A bit late for Corners, but hopefully useful to someone in future. |
