The electric AC pusher fan on my '82 240D drags a bit more than I'd like and draws a lot of current .

? Has anyone ever taken an original one apart for cleaning and lubrication ? .

I replaced the bearings in my fan. Definitely made it less noisy.

I has mine apart and it was full of buts and road crud. Crud alone is enough to bog it down.
There used to be some threads on that from before or around 2010.

I don't remember if these pictures are mine or not. While a different issue my Blower Motor was not the Usual Bosch Motor. So it is possible the Radiator Fan Motors are not all the same.

Not take a good look at the fan shaft nut and shaft to see if it has right or left hand threads on it. I can't remember.

In the areas that the arrow points to there is some tabs folded over that hold the plate on. I can't remember how I re-attached that. It might be I JB epoxied it back to the Housing.

The part that holds the bearing in has pop rivets that you drill out and replace.

The Bearing should have a number on it. But the replacement bearing was 6001 2RSJEM.
