ECU location C220 CDI W204 OM 646 2007

Hi, Possible intermittent "2054-00" error, "The analogue/digital controller of the CDI control unit is faulty" and the engine light is on, but now not any more.

To just check the wiring harness and those contacts I would like to know the location of the ECU as it is not visible in a cut out of the engine cover. The ECU is hidden somewhere, help!

One chap bought a second hand ECU, unsoldered the EPROM with the security details, so the key works and then soldered that EPROM into the correct spot and saved himself a few bucks.

Thanks.

If this is the OM651 we are talking about the ECU is on top of the engine on top of the air filter assembly, its mounted to a hole where air is drawn in through fins on the bottom of the ECU to keep it nice and cool.

In my W211 (2008 E320 with OM642) the ECU is in the back right corner of the engine bay underneath the cabin air intake assembly. Once the air box is out there are 2 10mm bolts and it pulls up. Had to dismount it to get to one of the upper control arm bolts when I recently redid the front suspension.
