Exhaust manifold flex internal pipe (OM603)
Does anyone know the part number of the internal tube (281 in the below diagram)?
The dealer that sold me the flex did not sell me the tube, which I'm thinking I'll need.

Pelicanparts used to have people to help you look up stuff. Beyond that if you do a google search for Mercedes Parts you will eventually find a place that displays the picture you have but also has the part numbers and what they would charge for that part and if it is available to them,
It is most likely that the tube is OK. It does not seal anything it just takes the heat and focuses the exhaust gasses on down the line. Concerning the 284 clamp there should I am guessing there should be 2 of those. You might expect the Nut to be seized onto the bolt. That is they way it was on clamp 335 which is similar on my 617.952. I had tried removing 2 of those clamps at the Junk Yard the threaded part snapped in two (at the junk yard I had no penetrating oil or propane torch to heat it). When I had to remove that clamp on mine I used an Nut Splitter and cracked the Nut in 2 an preserved the shaft/bolt. Of course it got never-seez when it went back together.

Possibly varies by 603 model... One part number is 117-142-01-54
Here on PP at: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/1171420154MBZ.htm?pn=117-142-01-54-MBZ |

Quote:
The biggest issue on the 603 is that generally if you take the rear portion of the manifold off, you'll break at least one stud doing it. So people usually cut the flex and the pipe out with a dremel, and then either remove the studs or elongate the holes on the exhaust manifold so the new parts can be reinstalled without removing the other half of the manifold. Hopefully I'll get lucky and all the studs will come right out with the nuts attached.
