1984 300D: spring pad thickness.
Mercedes says there are four different spring pad thicknesses available for this car. They are:
1. 8 mm 1 Burl 2. 13 mm 2 Burls 3. 18mm 3 Burls 4. 23mm 4 Burls They said if I look at the spring pads on the car I should see 1 to 4 "bumps" which should tell me which size spring pad to purchase. Does this sound correct? |

Yes, the burls will be noticeable on the old ones. The spring pad in the picture below is a 4-burl version.

Got the tire and wheel off. There are two red dots and three green dots painted onto the spring itself. Question, how many "burls" is this? Am I looking in the right place?

I found the burls on the spring pads. There are three burls on the front springs and three burls on the rear springs. According to what mercedes gave me I should use an 18mm spring pad.
