2005 cdi starter
Over the past few weeks my starter is turning over the engine slower as it gets cooler out. I've owned this car for 6 or so months when I purchased it I put in a new main battery. I will run a few tests but my feeling is its the starter. Just wondering how much effort is involved with changing the starter in this model, not a whole lot of info out there.

I'm not sure about the W211 CDI but in my R230 SL550 the starter is actually powered by the small battery under the hood.
I had slow starter issues and replaced the main battery thinking there was no way in the world the small battery under the hood could power the starter motor. In the case of the R230 SL this assumption was incorrect.

I still haven't had a chance to crawl under the car yet bad back just now. I did check the WIS but no information. I just assumed its on the drivers side. I did manage to clean out my garage so I can park inside which greatly improves cranking speed.
