did R320 cdi require DEF fluid?

Can't seem to get answers on Web


Looking to avoid- def fluids and DPF filters for diesel vehicles.

The system can be deleted. AFAIK, those motors are quite reliable, well besides the oil cooler seal if it hasn't been replaced with the updated part yet.

as i recall when i started looking around the r class did from 2007 used DEF......the 2007 e320 bluetec did not but did use the particulate filter
