The rarest of the rare when it comes to interior upgrades (I am not counting or including AMG body kit items). It took me forever to find those for a W123 AMG and I am still looking for the AMG Speedometer.
The W123 locking armrest on the driver's seat. Made by HEYCO back in the day. HEYCO was and still is I beleive a tool maker, but they made these armrests for some dealers in Germany. I am reaching out to them to see if there is any information at all. I have never found any info on the net. I might have gotten hosed and this is some sort of weird knockoff and not a W123 / MB piece at all. However, it does bolt right up and has the same exact fixture as the W123 armrest. It bolts right up just like the stock armrest when I tried it out on "Red" a few times and debated wrapping it in red leather. The issue for me is do I send this off to my guy in Mexico who is the world's best leather guy and wrap it in blue leather to match the seats or do I stick with stock ? I learned my lesson doing interiors and making sure to use all the same leather at the same time to make sure it matches perfectly. This would be a tasteful upgrade which can easily be un-done. I am looking at a brand new console plate along with new heated seat switches , new ashtray, and the piece above it. The Classic Center says to do all three pieces at once which makes sense. With shipping back and forth, less than $300 which is a pricey deal for me, but a once in a lifetime restoration for the interior wood. The locking armrest sits about an 1" higher, give or take, which is perfect for the W123 cassette holder. I am looking for one of those as well. I have plenty of cassettes from back in the day. I'm glad I didn't pitch them. I can finally listen to them again like back in the 80s. Here is the armrest and the listing in 2016 from Craigslist: Rare Mercedes w123 Locking Center Console 240d 300d 300td 300cd sfbay.craigslist.org Hello Craigslist, I have a very rare locking center console / armrest for Mercedes w123 series cars. I bought this in Germany over 25 years ago for my 300td, and never installed it. Made by Heyco of.. |

I saw your original posts from years gone by --- I do have one last Getrag 717.400 five speed tranny with most of the required parts being Dealer NOS, e.g., cross member, shift rods, et cet. Your thoughts ? I was planning on just selling them down the road. However, I saw your posts. It would be almost all NOS parts. The tranny is near pristine, low miles, around 25K miles from a wreck which I grabbed around eight or nine years ago. I am looking at the new leather interior by the end of June. Sourcing a few parts now before it goes off the upholstry shop. Not taking any risks ... |

I have had both clear and yellow fog lights. Are the clears worth some money? If so I can look around I might have one or two.

Its been just over 3 months for us here now, two of them in lockdown. We are just able to travel now in our region. Most shops and restaurants are open. Waiting for residency in order to buy a car, something with a diesel. No need for a 5 speed anymore, unless I find a nice W123. Can't wait to see the pic's of the car with leather. Keep up the good work, I'll check in from time to time!

REAR Heated Seats SA Code 872
Got back the 3-D printed rear heated seat pods and bezels. See pictures. Cost around $100 more than expected, but I am pretty happy. They are about spot on and when I measured them, it's .001 off here and there, but I would say it is impossible to tell the difference without measuring them, and at .001 or worse case .002, I cannot imagine anyone could spot this. The backs are different as the flange is flush. SA Code 872 indeed. Oddly, the pods are NOT symetrical. They are slightly different. I have everything I need but the material off the B-Pillars to cover these. This is probably a fall or early winter project now because of the unbearable heat.
I will do the Euro rear headrests this month. I have a set of blue MB Text headrests coming in shortly. Got a swap for my injector service for the headrests which is about on par with JY pricing ($15-ish) as compared to the costs for consumables and shipping for injectors. I am too lazy and its too hot to hit the yards. Not sure how folks work in this heat. I used to run around and train in this heat like it was nothing. Now, I truly dread it. I am keeping the automatic transmission and not do a five-speed conversion. This car is way too minty and original. |

Really neat! I can't wait to see how they look installed. I hadn't seen your car before. It's pretty.

Thanks Squiggle Dog. I do have the hardware which came with the wind deflector, which looks just like those in your pictures. I am missing a washer so that will be the project trying to find one which matches 'close enough' not to stick out like a sore thumb.

SA881 REAR HEADRESTS
With no brutal heat this AM, I decided to tackle one of the many upgrades and projects I have planned for China Blue - Euro Rear Headrests, Accessory Code SA881
I sold these to GatorBlue a few years ago, and ended up re-purchasing them back because I cannot locate my last pair of rear headrests. They are somewhere in the clutter or I may have sold them. Got the blue MB Tex skins from ROLLGUY for a swap, and I had the eyelets x 4 sitting in a small bag in the glovebox to Red, the AMG wannabe. Overall, I like them in China Blue. I plan on keeping them once I re-do the interior in the late fall in leather with feintuft velour. I also swapped out the black first aid box for a blue one. The black one is super minty, and the blue one installed is likewise super minty. It has the German first aid kit still in the plasitic bag wrapper. |

Many thanks again to SquiggleDog
The sunroof air deflector is installed. Not 100% sure it is installed correctly, but we'll see. It took about an hour and it was a fiddily PITA. But, I like it. |

Manifold upgrade
Just did a manifold upgrade. Removed the original intake and exhaust manifold which had the US EGR DOT emmissions. It had what appeared to be the original gasket as well. Different than the rectangle which sits about 1" proud of the manifold.
It was a gunky mess, and explained my oil leak. Pretty straight foward removal. |

Ceramic Coated Exhaust manifold
Installed the non-EGR version of the intake and exhaust maniflold.
The exhaust manifold was ceramic coated a grey color to match the original. I was hoping it was going to be a shade lighter, but it still looks nice. |

Clean up
I used three of the giant dog pads to absorb the Gunk and brake cleaner to clean this side of the engine. Large drip tray, with a plastic liner with three pads to catch everything underneath. Two cans of brake cleaner and about a third of a can of Gunk. It was loaded on this side of the engine.
