Several people have mentioned this stuff and G. set me up with an un broken 1st aid box lid, I'm like to clean and re spray it .

TIA,

If you’re referring to the rattle cans, Sem color coat palomino 15323.
Bought mine on either ebay or amazon. It’s awesome.

first aid box

Hi Nate,

Glad you're getting around to painting the first aid box!

The brand is called SEM Color Coat, and the color is Palomino. Expensive stuff but its a perfect match and worth keeping a can on hand. You can touch up all plastics and some fabrics. Rich has had success dyeing carpets with the stuff - search Diesel Discussion for his thread on the 600K+ S123.

Make sure you use a good plastic adhesion promoter first (like a primer). Duplicolor and Rustoleum both make a good one.

Gimme a text or email if you have more questions.

-Geoff

The problem with Amazon for SEM paints, is that the cans are smaller, and cost the same as your local body shop paint supply. I pay about $18 for the big can, Amazon is about the same (shipped) for the smaller can......Rich

You can select the color or call the techs at the SEM plant in SC. They know their business and will answer any questions you ask.

I have shot a gallon of their products using a 30 dollar harbor freight HPLV gun. Here's my advise on how to prep.

Scrub the plastic with a scotchbrite pad using a mix of ammonia/water/ivory liquid to remove anything which will prevent a bond between the plastic and the paint. Do not touch the plastic with bare hands after you rinse the cleaning solution off.

I have used all of SEM's XXX cleaner and it does nothing more than the cheap homemade cleaner does. SEM soap, XXX cleaner and such will cost you a fortune.

Use SEM's adhesion promoter to bond the paint to the plastic and follow directions. It's called Sand Free (3836.)

What you get will highlight the fact that your entire interior needs attention.

Sorry Nate, didn't see this before you dropped by yesterday.

I promised one to Shern, but have four - if you make it on Sunday to the Mercedes Motoring show I'll give you one there.

Please forgive me for hijacking this thread :-)

Blue and I will be finishing up on his engine rebuild, and hope to have his 560,000 mile wagon there displayed front and center. I am planning on bringing the SLD as well. If I find another driver (I may be able to talk my brother into driving), I will bring my 627,000 mile wagon too!......Rich

shwos this weekend

Awesome news, Rich. Blue told me that he'll have his right hand drive S124 at Radwood, so maybe I'll park my S124 next to him there.

Looking forward to seeing the SLD and his 904 wagon too...I have a soft spot for 904 colored cars!

Thumbs up Sunday M-B Show

I hope to make this, I have loads of backed up E-Mails to wade through and see if I have the address or not .

Maybe my Sweet will allow me to drive the gray market 1984 300TD....

It's not pristine like many members cars are but it's nice and gets comments every time it's driven .
