Clamp sizes for Radiator hose

I am changing my radiator hoses tommorow both upper and lower. The old clamps on the hoses are pretty croded, so I think its best if I got new clamps . What kind of clamp sizes do both the hoses take?

I have a 1984 Mercedes 300D

Cheers

for a better clamp, go to napa and buy a constant tension type hose clamp. It doesnt leak in the cold weather - they are a bit pricey (about 8 dollars each), they also have the genuine BMW/Mercedes hose clamps too Or advanceauto has ideal tridon hose clamps with an inner sleeve and SS construction. - They also dont pinch the hose like regular screw hose clamps.

The big upper and lower radiator hoses take a 1.75 inch diameter clamp.

The smaller hose on the bottom running to the coolant catch tank (aka expansion tank) takes a 1.0 inch diameter clamp

I am a big proponent of the constant tension clamps on plastic radiator necks because it doesn't stress the plastic and lead to cracked necks.

If you can find them, 44mm constant tension spring clamps work well. I have been using them now for a number of years.

my local NAPA has these ones too - usually at a 4 hour notice, the ready ones are the breeze constant tension style with the stack of bellville washers on the screw head.
