The glow plug fault won't affect how the car drives. You either have a bad glow plug or the wiring to controller is bad. Replacing glow plugs on these engines is really easy. Controller much more difficult to reach.

Not sure about the other code.

Doesn't sound like you have a good (MB specific) code reader. You should get one ASAP.

Either Foxwell NT520 or iCarSoft MBII (I have the latter).

So no one with the scanner can plug those faults in and give him a lil more advice??

Maybe the tool doesn't work like that tho I dunno?

So to be clear, are you saying your car goes into limp mode because it throws a bad code? Or does your engine just run like garbage when it's hot?

2 typical trips-- i usually make

1.) drive - mixed highway-- few stop lites-- 10 miles-- stop at destination
for 3 hours-- back home
Never an issue-- car drives- NICE-- timed 0-60, 7seconds
2.) 40 miles -- almost all expressway-- 75 mph... get to meeting 30-40 minutes---Zero issues,,, re-start car to drive back home-- car will lose ALL turbo? OR feels like 4th gear the whole drive... happened 3 or 4 times
I figured out after 1st time-- that stopping/ re-starting car once or twice --gets car operating like it should w/ acceleration.

1st few times NO CEL... last few times... CEL came on

Code 2513-- is for inlet port shut off motor
Possibly-- M55 Servo Motor or wiring/short/ Or Bad swirl flaps???
is what I am coming up with in some brief digging

Could the Dirty/clogged EGR - throw this code?

No code for clogged egr usually....just limp mode.

You may have multiple issues. Get rid of EGR or clean it out, then see what else comes up.

Chrono... i hear you
But i have a code... which is pointing to
Swirl flap motor or flaps or electrical to that motor???

Being new to this diy problem solving. ..
Is that code... to be taken literally
Or
Code can be general? For example egr...
Which is never mentioned in my research on the given code

clean the swirl flaps that are "Gummy"

Or take intake manifold off and clean?

any type of additives/cleaners to "run thru" system??? It appears to run better-- no code/cel-- when I pour in a dose of Fuel additive (Howes)- and gunned it today-- code amd cel- went off

thx

Your best bet at this point is to spend the $130 and get an authoritative diagnosis.

WTS-- if I do 4.7 ohm/resistor trick on Swirl flap motor... and leave open flaps, and "trick computer"... that should fool CEL lite to go off?? and no more limp?

If the intake is indeed dirty/gummy-- causing this code... will I risk harming engine... when using this Resistor trick to fool computer?

fyi-- my car is very fast (when NOT in Limp) and it shows no Black/sooty exhaust when i Hammer it or ever... I would think the exhaust would show some signs of Soot or Blackness if it Intake was carbon-ed up???
