There’s a draft in here!

Has anyone replaced the rubber seal that runs along the driver’s side window(or any window for that matter)? Weatherstrip? Not sure what it’s called, but this may or may not be the part number: 123720157864

I gave it a few coats of gummi Pfledge to some avail, but ultimately, the seal is old and visibly cracked. I thought about repairing it with black silicon or Dap but the cracks are all on the felt side (interior channel).

The wind noise at highway kind of sucks. It’s hindering my enjoyment of the usual 27,870 rpm sound of my 616.

I believe you are referring to the window run channels. I have not replaced them on my 240D, but they are on my list. Mine are so dried out that my windows rattle

They are glued in IIRC so you will need some adhesive. You just gotta pull the windows out, take out the old channels, clean, and feed in the new channels.

Window run channels… That’s it. Now I’m getting some google hits.
Yesterday I partially removed one – fortunately no adhesive found.
I really have to take the windows out to change these things?

There are pics perhaps on this site where the old channel is removed and the new is forced in. It was simple but not necessarily easy. Sorry, I don't have a link.

JC Whitney used to sell some channel spring inserts; they fit in the channel and stopped the window from chattering. Wonder if this would help?

It’s the flocked side that’s deteriorating. The other idea I had was to peel the seal out as far as it goes (without removing the window) and gummi pfledging the rubber side.

These are the ones I waa looking at buying. Price just got reduced last night also (got an alert for it on my phone). I am sure you can do them without pulling the window, but pulling the window would make it significantly easier.

I recall finding adhesive when I peeled mine out to do the same thing you tried, but it could be a PO mod, not necessarily factory. Other vehicles I have replaced window channels in have had factory adhesive there.

Window Run Channels

Just for funzies, before you buy aftermarket from Turkey (I've used this guy and he's O.K.), try asking Tom H. at the M-B Classic Center in Irvine, his prices are better than any dealer and he'll ship to your door....

I bought the drivers side from Amazon. Prime 2 day delivery. It was made by URO and was only $25 so I thought I’d try it out. I was able to change it without removing the window and there was no glue. Looked and fit like the original.

Hi Dcraigk, doesn't look like Pelican has our Window Run 123 725 0425 in their catalog - we'll ask them to add it. It usually only takes a few days.

Odd that Amzn says 1-2 months... We have them in stock, there's no reason they shouldn't be able ship right away. Checking into it.

Post Window Run Channels

No problem ~ you now have the correct part number, copy and paste it into E-Bay and you should find plenty.....

Or google it .
