Exhaust from an '81 240D into an '83 NA 300D?

I am looking at an exhaust system from a 1981 240D that has no center resonator, just the pipe and rear muffler. Is this normal? I thought they all had resonators.

I am wanting to install this into a 1983 300D NON TURBO. Would this be compatible and/or easily doable?

Thanks!

It should work fine. Less backpressure more noise.

Do some NOT have a resonator?

Do the ones from the 1981 240 D come without a resonator?

i doubt i

sorry, i read it as 240 into 300. I would not do that....more backpressure less fuel economy.
