Diesel brothers hit with big fine

https://connect.xfinity.com/appsuite/#!!&app=io.ox/mail&folder=default0/INBOX&waitSeconds=30

Apparently a fine of over 800K has been levied against them for tampering with diesel emissions.

Good riddance to the foolish rolling coal.

Like the fools that win big money on game shows and forget to file their taxes with those winnings added. Someone other than a guy who "wants" an 1100HP daily driver may be watching.

Notice the fine cannot be discharged via bankruptcy. They are screwed.

Don't think they are screwed... 850k then will be negotiated down to 450k by their lawyers is nothing to these main stream idiots... There are probably worth 100 million

But yes I dunno if they gonna have the balls to keep chipping and building trucks for their show but we will see

I can't help but wonder about the thousands and thousands of diesel truck owners who are out there doing the exact same thing right now??

I guess if you have a merc diesel, you best perform glow plug reaming, ALDA adjusting and IP timing setting to the best of your ability because they may be coming for us.

Let's face it, we are witnessing the beginning of the end for diesel owners.

Given enough time, for most people with petroleum powered vehicles....at the rate of advancement we're seeing, electric vehicles will be very strong competition to petrol vehicles within 5-6 years or less. Once the range is a bit more, and charging is even faster, they'll win enough people over for it to take off.

I plan to make my GLK last 5-7 more years minimum so I can transition right to electric.... at 15k a year that puts it around ~175-190k on it by then.

Heh, heh, especially when the other side buys a few judges who levy $850,000 judgements against the competition.

For many applications, it is a poor choice. Enthusiasts are always on the fringe of practicality -- this being no exception. Also, the standards for the new market are very different from what we enjoy. A lot of folks on here (including me) enjoy simplicity and rawness...not gonna work mass market. I have to concede that most electric vehicles are objectively better than anything I own, new or old but I enjoy my old shytboxes. We should enjoy them while we have them.
